Terms of sale
Effective October 7, 2026
These terms apply when you use birthgazette.com or order a book from The Birth Gazette ("we", "us"). By placing an order you agree to them. You can reach us at [email protected].
What we sell
A personalized 24-page book about the day a person was born, in two editions: Classic and Heirloom. Each order includes the book as a PDF, sent by email, and the hardcover, printed on demand and shipped within the United States. The front page you see before paying is the real first page of the book. Images of the editions show the real design of a sample book.
Ordering and payment
- You must be at least 18 years old to place an order.
- Prices are in U.S. dollars and include shipping within the United States.
- Payments are processed by PayPal. We never see or store your card details.
- Your order is confirmed when PayPal confirms the payment. We send a confirmation email with a link to your order page.
Changes, cancellations and reprints
You can fix the name or the dedication, or cancel, within 24 hours, before the book goes to press. If you cancel after receiving the PDF, we refund the full price minus $14.99 for the PDF edition. Damaged or misprinted books, and books with a fact we got wrong, are reprinted for free. All the details are in Shipping, cancellations and reprints.
The details you give us
You are responsible for the name, birthday, dedication and signature you enter, and for checking them in the preview. Please only enter another person's name and birthday if they would be happy to receive this book, and only enter text you have the right to use. We may decline to print a dedication that is offensive, unlawful or that names a minor without a parent's consent; if we do, we refund your order in full.
About the historical content
The events, songs, prices and names in each book come from public records and reference sources such as Social Security, the U.S. Census, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and Billboard charts, and each fact is checked before it is printed. History is written by people, and sources sometimes disagree. The book is a keepsake for general interest, not a historical or legal document. If you find a fact we got wrong, we reprint the book for free.
Colors and paper
Screens and paper show color differently, so the printed book can look slightly different from what you see on your screen. Small differences between the preview and the printed book are not a defect.
Using the book
The book is for your personal use and as a gift. The texts, layout and illustrations belong to The Birth Gazette. You may share photos of your book and print copies of your PDF for family and friends; you may not resell it or reproduce it commercially.
Our responsibility
We do our best to get every book right and on time. Delivery dates are estimates. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one on this page when you placed it.
